Penn’s Internal Surplus Property Marketplace

BEN’s Attic is the University of Pennsylvania’s online platform for redistributing surplus equipment and supplies across campus. Managed by Procurement Services, the site enables departments to buy, sell, or repurpose items through an easy-to-use internal marketplace.

All Penn faculty and staff with a valid PennKey can browse listings, suggest items, or make purchases. Users will be asked to provide their department’s Business Administrator when participating in transactions. Please review all applicable policies before using the site.

BEN’s Attic supports Penn’s commitment to sustainability by helping departments extend the life of usable goods, reduce waste, and lower costs.

• Asset Management:

Schools and Centers are responsible for managing their assets in accordance with University policies. For guidance, refer to the policies for Plant Asset Retirements or Retirement of Computing Equipment, or contact dofproperty@pobox.upenn.edu.

• Transportation & Moving:

For moves between University-owned buildings, contact Facilities & Real Estate Services (FRES).

For moves involving non-University locations, contact one of Penn’s contacted moving companies.
